The Great Bell of Thien Mu pagoda
The Great Bell of Thien Mu Pagoda is an important Buddhist tool casted under the reign of Lord Nguyen Phuc Chu (1691-1725) in 1710 for the Buddhist offerings . The bell is 3,285 Vietnamese traditional kg (over 2.000kg), 2.5m high, and its diameter is 1.4m. Its proportional form and delicated decorative patterns reflect fully the interference of the three influencial Oriental philosophies, which are Buddhism, Confucianism and Toaism in longing for the supreme peace and complete wisdom. The Great Bell of Thien Mu Pagoda is one of the oldest and most valuable antiques of the ancient Hue marking the development of Buddhism in Cochinchina from late 17th to early 18th centuries. The Bell was acknowledged as the National Treasure in 2013. P/s: Lord Nguyen Phuc Chu, Hung Long as the Buddhist name, was the 30th generation praticien of T’sao Tung Buddhist meditation section.

The Great Bell in Thien Mu pagoda is one of the long-standing and valuable bells in many aspects in Hue ancient capital, a typical work of fine art decoration as well as convergence of features of fine bronze casting art. It also marked the development of Buddhism in Dang Trong (Inner Region) in the late 17th - early 18th centuries.

The Great Bell in Thien Mu pagoda was recognized as the Vietnam National Treasure in 2013.
