The traditional festival at Hue Nam Shrine 2015 (Lunar July)
The Hue Nam Festival (Hon Chen Festival) is a traditional folk festival connecting with the Hue Nam shrine and Hai Cat village temple, Huong Tho commune, Huong Tra district (Huong Tra Town presently). It is a traditional spiritual activity of a part of Hueans particularly and Vietnamese generally taken at Lunar March and July annually in a shrine located on Ngoc Tran hill, where the Mother Goddess Thien Y A Na is worshipped

It is considered the folk festival of Hue region on Huong river. When its is taken place, the river is animated with colorful flags, altars, insence, and so on.

The procession of Mother Goddess Thien Y A Na carried out from Hai Cat village to Hue Nam Shrine with the Mother Goddess Returning Ceremony, the Fish and Bird Liberation, the Lantern Dropping and the Chau Van Singing, etc often attracts hundreds of boats on Huong river with numerous tourists nationwide.

With Hue Nam Festival 2015 (Lunar July), Hue Monuments Conservation Centre cooperates with different local authorities and inhabitants to organize the ceremonies at Huong Tho commune, Huong Tra Town, Thua Thien Hue province from August 21-23 (Lunar July 8,9,10).
